Explore a range of programs designed to celebrate Hazara heritage and support community integration in Finland.

Advocacy and Human Rights

The Hazara community in Afghanistan has faced relentless and systematic persecution based on their ethnicity and religious beliefs since the 1890s. In addition to enduring historic oppression, a new wave of persecution has reignited against women and minorities after the fall of Afghanistan to the Taliban on 15th August 2021. The intersectional identities like the Hazara women fall into the most vulnerable situation under the current authoritarian regime. The Hazara Cultural House works to raise awareness about the unheard voices and untold stories of women and minorities to influence policy for change, and to promote protection of women’s and minorities’ rights.

Culture and Diversity

The Hazara Culture House works to celebrate differences and promote culture of tolerance fostering understanding among Hazaras and other communities in Finland through its cultural events. These events are meant to celebrate the Hazaragi culture and engage with other diverse cultures to promote inclusion and equality, strengthen understanding, and foster respect and tolerance among people from diverse backgrounds.

Integration Programs

The Hazara cultural House conducts communal integration programs to support the Afghanistani community of Finland to better understand the host community’s practices, values, and culture through various programs such as awareness raising campaigns, events, workshops, and seminars. These activities are meant to foster integration of the Afghanistan community, cooperation, understanding, and mutual respect between the host and the Hazara community.
